Terry Gordon (OAM)

Comedy and classis Country

Terry's combination of comedy, country music and comparing skills have been entertaining audiences for over 50 years. A regular at music festivals from afar as Wisconsin USA to across Australia and New Zealand.

Terry gained much acclaim and respect for hosting the TV program “Must Be Country” in the 1980s. 2005 saw him receive the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for services to Australian country music. and in 2012 he was inducted into the Roll of Renown in Tamworth.

Fascinated by country music from early childhood, Gordon took up the guitar and played in bands through his teenage years.

Moving to Sydney, he played as a solo act in pubs and clubs and also appeared on television, hosting the Australian Country Music Show. Excerpts from this popular 80s show were released on DVD in 2005.

Also in the 80s, he performed and recorded often with Chad Morgan and with Owen Blundell and Reg Poole as the Gunbarrel Highwaymen, and with Slim Dusty.

In addition to performing, Gordon has composed music and written poetry. In 1993 he won the Country Music Entertainer Of The Year award. In 2005 his services to country music were recognized with the award of the Order of Australia Medal.
